Brakspear Pubs Offer Rugby Beer for Six Nations

jerusalem-beerBrakspear have brewed a special beer, Jerusalem especially for rugby lovers to enjoy drinking whilst watching the the Six Nations tournament when it starts on 4 February.  Not only are many Brakspear pubs screening the action live, The Anchor, Angel on the Bridge, Little Angel and Station House in Henley are serving Jerusalem, with a  ‘buy nine pints, get one free’ offer.

England’s victory in the Six Nations last year has fuelled interest in next month’s tournament, with fans keen to see if the home team can repeat the success.  Many will choose to watch the match in the pub, with friends and fellow supporters creating an atmosphere that’s second only to being at the stadium.

Part of the experience is supping a pint or two of beer and Jerusalem fits the bill perfectly; it’s a 3.8% ABV, amber ‘session’ ale. To claim their free pint, customers need to request a collector card from the barman, and then get it stamped every time they buy a pint of Jerusalem, in any participating pub. When the card is fully stamped after nine pints, they can claim one free pint.

Brakspear Marketing Manager Emma Sweet said, “Our pubs are always busy for key rugby fixtures and with hopes high for a second England triumph this year, we’re expecting record numbers of rugby lovers to watch the Six Nations in their local. Jerusalem was specially brewed to honour England’s win in 2016 and it is a perfect rugby-watching beer.  Giving a free pint to customers who buy nine pints from us over the course of the tournament is our way of thanking rugby fans for watching the games in our pubs.”

The Six Nations starts on Saturday 4 February, with England’s first match against France kicking off at 4.50 pm.

Outside of Henley, the following pubs will have Jerusalem – Catherine Wheel, Goring; Chequers, Watlington; Cherry Tree, Stoke Row; Fox & Hounds, Christmas Common; Hare &Hounds, Sonning Common; Horns, Wargrave;  Potters Arms, Winchmore Hill, Beaconsfield; Six Bells, Warboroug and Duke of Wellington, Twyford .
