Parking & Transport

Public Car Parking in Henley on Thames

Some roads in the centre of Henley have on-street parking via a pay-and-display system. There is however a Residents Parking Scheme on many of the same roads, so be careful not to use those spaces.

In addition, there are the following car parks:
Mill Meadows (access via Meadow Road) – RG9 1BE
Kings Road – RG9 2DQ
Greys Road – RG9 2AA
Southfields (access via Goodall Close off Greys Road, between Deanfield Avenue and Albert Road) – RG9 1BJ
Marsh Meadows, Mill Lane – RG9 4HD
APCOA at Henley on Thames Station – RG9 1AY
Dry Leas at Henley Rugby Club – RG9 2JN

This link will take you to the Parkopedia website which has full details of the car parks.

You can download a PDF here that shows the location of the above car parks except Dry Leas.

Henley Handybus

The Henley HandyBus helps people to get out and about, to meet their friends and to go shopping locally and twice each month to Reading. It is for people who do not have transport, those with mobility difficulties as well as for local organisations.

The bus will collect you from your home and take you to various places in Henley on a daily basis. The HandyBus carries wheelchairs and the drivers will help with heavy shopping bags and trolleys.

Each day the bus has its regular duties which include shopping at Tesco and Waitrose. Most weekdays it takes passengers to the Over 60s Social Club in the town centre. The bus is also available for outings in the evenings and at weekends.

See the website, or call or email for more details.

New Henley Handybus Scheme

A weekly shopping bus service replacing the now defunct Oxfordshire Dial-a-Ride, this service is a different one – but confusingly has chosen the same name – to the old Henley and District Handibus Scheme, that renamed itself to Henley Handybus a year or so ago and is listed above.

This new scheme serves the villages of Bix, Nettlebed, Park Corner, Cookley Green, Howe Hill, Pishill, Stonor and the Assendons, and is a door-to-door service picking up those without access to public or private transport and taking them to Tesco or Waitrose in Henley and then bringing them home. There is no charge for tickets but a bus pass would be useful if you have one.

Runs at 9.30 am on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday each month, returning by 1 pm. The OCC Comet runs on the other weeks at 10.30 am on Thursdays, returning by 2 pm.
