Rupert House School To Welcome New Head

Rupert House School has appointed a new Headmistress to replace Mrs Niki Gan who is retiring after seven years at the school.

Mrs Clare Lynas, who will be joining the school in September, is a graduate of St Andrew’s University where she studied English; she has a Masters Degree in Child Development from the University of London and qualified as a teacher at Moray House College. She is currently Deputy Head at Thorngrove School, near Newbury in Berkshire.

Her husband Michael is a director of the Ambassador Theatre Group and she has three children: Tom (18) Archie( 16) and Rory (11).

Mrs Lynas, who has worked in a range of independent schools and has experience of children from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to Key Stage 4, said: ‘Rupert House has an excellent reputation for its high academic standards and for its happy, welcoming atmosphere.   I am delighted to be joining the school and look forward to getting to know pupils, parents, staff and governors in the months ahead.’

Current Headmistress, Mrs Gan said, ‘I know that everyone at Rupert House will welcome Mrs Lynas. I have enjoyed every day of the seven years I have been here and I will miss the children, their parents and my wonderful colleagues very much. I would like to wish everybody connected with the school every success for the future.’
