Henley Hockey Ladies Suffer Humiliating Defeat
Henley Ladies suffered a humiliating defeat to local rivals Wycombe at the weekend. Missing influential defender Mel Lennard the team were still confident going into the match. Maybe too confident!
Henley started badly and sloppy possession provided Wycombe with an opportunity to run at the Henley defence and create havoc. They did this time and again and Henley found themselves 4-0 down by half time.
A better secon half saw Henly mount some attack, but it also left them over exposed at the back. So despite a consolation goal from Jenny Buckham, Wycombe ran out 6-1 winners.
Henley need to turn it aroun this weekend to remain in contention for a top four finish.
