MacMillan Henley Coffee Mornings
Next Friday (27 September) is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event – the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. The charity asks people across the UK to hold a coffee morning, where donations on the day are made to Macmillan. In 2012 115,000 people signed up, raising a record £15 million.
There are Macmillan Coffee Mornings taking place in Henley at:
The Lemongrove Gallery in Hart Street from 10.45am onwards
Kirsty Chapman, Gallery Manager of Lemongrove said, “Here at The Lemongrove Gallery we strongly believe in the good work of the Macmillan charity, as we have all been touched in some way by cancer at some point. We look forward to raising money and awareness for such a worthwhile cause.”
The River & Rowing Museum 10.00-12.00 noon
Helene Raynsford, Gold Paralympian Rowing Medalist in Beijing will be at this event. Helene was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Breast Cancer earlier this year. She says, “So when I heard the River and Rowing Museum were taking part in the Macmillan national coffee morning I wanted to lend a hand to promote and see if we can raise a lot of money for a very good cause. Macmillan do fantastic work making a huge difference at a time of a lot of worry. ”
Harpsden Hoppers Playgroup 10-12.00 noon
At Harpsden Village Hall. Along with our usual activities we will be Cupcake Decorating for £1, Guess the Sweets in a Jar Competition 20p per guess and a Cake Stall with different bakes at various prices.
