The rain didn’t dampen the spirits of the Henley Aliquando Choir who performed on Sunday night at The Bull on Bell Street pub for the 15th night of the Living Advent Calendar and there was still a good audience too who had braved the weather to enjoy the performance and great refreshments offered by The Bull.
The choir performed three songs which included ‘Silver Bells’ ‘Light the Christmas Candle’ and a special version of ‘Ding Dong Merrily on High’ which was written by one of the members; Anne Westegaard in 1979. In between the songs, Jan French read a very funny poem called ‘Christmas Dinner’ by Michael Rosen which was all about a worm which came out of the turkey or that’s what everyone thought! The singing was accompanied by Dan Evans on the guitar.
Councillor Will Hamilton was the host for the evening and drew the raffle prize of a £30 voucher for a meal at The Bull. The Living Advent Calendar is a joint initiative between Henley Town Council and the Henley Partnership and the main sponsor for this year is Sotheby’s International Realty.
The evening was sponsored by County Douglas Law who are a family business specialising in Wills, Trusts, Lasting Power of Attorneys, Estate Planning and Probate.
