In the last week of term, Gillotts School held their annual sports day with both track and field events including high jump and javellin.  Just in the opening 800m events, school records were being broken.

As is tradition, the students dressed up in their house colours with many covering their bodies and hair with paint and coloured hairspray.  It was a real colourful spectacle with flags and mascots adding to the carnival atmosphere.  Mr Thomas, Head of IT was this year’s commentator getting the teams to get behind their competitors in each of the races.

A real team spirit and true friendship was also shown when students and teachers got together to help others to complete some of the races.

The day ended with the traditional Year 10 relay against the PE staff, with the staff just winning.
