Henley Round Table Fireworks a Blast!
Henley Round Table put on another fantastic Fireworks Spectactular event on Saturday evening at Swiss Farm. The bonfire this year seemed bigger than ever and was built with the help of Wilkins of Henley and Southern Plant. Valley Road school children made a Guy to go on the top which had a remarkable resemblance to the school’s Headteacher, Mr Tim Coulson! Johnnie and Oli Miles, Owners of Wilkins, who were the main sponsor this year were delighted to light the bonfire with one of their vintage vans parked alongside.
Will Satch, Double World Champion and Bronze Olympic Medallist did the countdown to the fireworks. Will grew up in Henley and said, “I’ve really fond memories of coming here as a child every year and I was delighted and honoured to be asked to do the countdown.”
Families enjoyed funfair rides and stalls before the fireworks and the Round Table Beer Tent, the Hog Roast cooked and served by Mobile Pig & Lamb Roasting and the Henley Rotary Club refreshment stall were all doing a roaring trade.
This year 50% of the profit from the event will go to the Valley Road School Music Room and 50% will be split between Bishopswood Special School and the Chiltern Centre for Disabled Children.
