After the success of the first Chelsea Fringe in Henley last year, the organising committee are starting to plan the programme for this year’s events.
The Chelsea Fringe is an alternative festival to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show which is community driven and aims to be more accessible. Originally it focused on London but has now rolled out to other UK locations including Cambridge, Bristol, Brighton and other countries including Australia, Japan and Italy.
The first event again this year will be the Floral Flotilla on Saturday 21 May between 11-3pm when boat owners are encouraged to enter their boats and decorate them with flowers. Registrations will be open for the Floral Flotilla very soon.
New for this year will be Meditative Walks with Deborah Lewis through the Grey’s Court gardens on Sunday 22 May and Wednesday 8 June and a British Cut Flower Market on Saturday 28 May in Market Place alongside the Henley Allotment Association Plant Sale.
Babylon Plants at Cuxham will have hosting another open day this year on 11 June.
Other events are in the early stages of being planned including a Floral Portrait exhibition by Jo Wise from Floral Circus who last year put on a Floral Couture and Cocktails event at Lovibonds.
