Help Keep Henley Tidy – Volunteers Needed

hit-litter-2016Henley in Bloom Committee are calling on Henley residents to join their community litter pick to help keep Henley’s footpaths, verges & towpaths clean on Saturday 16 April 2016 between 10.00am and 12 noon.

There are several meeting points this year:

Christ Church Centre on Reading Road
Gainsborough Estate (car park at the top of the Pram Walk)
War Memorial Bus Stop – Opposite Peppard Lane with PCSO Claire Hewitt
Tesco Roundabout with Tesco employees

If there is an area you feel needs a bit of TLC, contact Becky Walker on 01491 630076 or b.walker@henleytowncouncil.gov.uk to arrange collection of  equipment, fluorescent bibs and bags which have been provided by BIFFA.

Complimentary soup will be served at the Christ Church Centre afterwards from 12 noon.

Councillor David Eggleton and member of the Henley in Bloom Committee said, “We’d like to see as many people as possible to come and out help tidy up on this important annual litter pick. There are many areas along our lovely footpaths where rubbish has just been dumped.”  This is shown in the above picture which was taken on the steps down from the Scout Hut where there was an old traffic cone and fire extinguisher along with lots of other food and drink litter.

This initiative is kindly supported by the Christ Church Centre & South Oxfordshire District Council.
