Children Delighted to See Their Artwork on Special HEDFAS 40th Anniversary Banner

Members of HEDFAS (Henley Decorative and Fine Arts Society) and Henley Youth Festival (HYF) visited Nettlebed school on Monday along with artist Emily Cooling to show the children a banner they helped to create.

Children in school years 3, 4, 5 and 6 worked with local artist Emily Cooling to create a banner using batik techniques in a special art workshop during Henley Youth Festival in March this year.  The workshop was funded by HEDFAS and the banner was created to celebrate HEDFAS’ 40th anniversary.  The banner has a river theme and features a drawing of Ratty & Mole from The Wind in the Willows.

Co Chair of HYF, Kate Swinburne-Johnson said, “The children were delighted to see the banner in it’s finished state for the first time and enjoyed pointing out the details they had helped to draw and paint.”
