The footpath bridge on the Bucks side of the river on the Fawley section of the footpath (No 12) has still not been fixed by Buckinghamshire County Council after 3 months.
The bridge collapsed into the water in November and has been shut off by fencing. A notice was fixed to the fencing which said, “The Order will come into operation on 16 November and will continue for a period not exceeding six months or until the said works have been completed whichever is the sooner.”
We asked Buckinghamshire County Council for an update this week and a spokesman said, “We had to close the path due to the footbridge collapse. If we get favourable weather conditions to carry out the work, our plans are to completely replace the bridge by the end of March. In the meantime, we apologise for any inconvenience the closure might cause.”
