New Bluebells Day Care Centre to Open Doors

The official opening of Bluebells Day Care Centre for the elderly at The Christ Church Centre will take place on Thursday 9 May.

Bluebells is a new charity, set up by Henley Mayor, Councillor Glen Lambert and the Christ Church Centre to replace the previous service that was closed down in March 2018.

Bluebells will offer a safe and secure place with qualified staff, for elderly and for those living with Dementia and Alzheimer’s to come and get involved in activities such as arts, crafts, quizzes and conversation. It will also offer carers some well-deserved respite.

The session will run on Thursdays from 10:30 – 15:30 and includes a freshly prepared two course lunch of main and dessert and transportation is available if required.

The Christ Church Memory Café is one year old this week.  It has gone from strength to strength and will continue to run alongside Bluebells. To celebrate the success there will be a party on Wednesday 24 April and anyone who has previously visited the Memory Café is invited.

If you or a loved one suffer from Dementia, why not come along and visit for lots of fun and laughter. The morning session runs from 10:30 – 12:00 and costs £2.50 per person which includes freshly made cakes and coffee.

The Christ Chuch Centre is also relaunching its Open House on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 12.00-1.30pm.  It will now be called Christ Church Lunch Club.  All Lunch Club food is freshly prepared and cooked on site and will include a Wednesday Roast. The cost of the lunch is £5.00 for a main course and £2.00 for a dessert, so great value for money.
