HAODS Present Half a Sixpence

After the sold out shows for Blackadder, HAODs return to the Kenton to perform Half a Sixpence opening on Wednesday (1 May) and running until Saturday (4 May)

The show follows Arthur Kipps, an orphan, who lives and works with other apprentices for the cruel draper, Mr. Shalford. After learning that he is due to inherit a fortune, Arthur tries to join the upper class and  becomes engaged to the wealthy Helen Walsingham. It is not long however before Arthur realises that his true love is his childhood sweetheart, Ann. Eventually Arthur loses all of his newfound wealth but fortunately he is finally able to marry Ann and they both live happily ever after.

This new version of the musical by Warner Brown is based on the novel KIPPS by H G Wells and includes songs “A Normal Working Day”, “My Heart’s Out There (What Should I Feel?)”, “This Is It”, “Be Determined”, “The Cricket Match”, “No Need Of Economy”, “Finesse”, “That’s What Money’s For” and “What Should I Feel?
