Shaun Dickens Restaurant Gets New Name and Menu

Shaun Dickens at The Boathouse on Station Road will rebranding and relaunching as Bistro at The Boathouse from 31 October.

Shaun said, “I have always loved food. Whether it was watching and studying the organic beauty of Raymond Blanc’s creations at Le Manoir, scrutinising and marvelling at Thomas Keller’s scientific artistry in New York, or my very first pub job on Yorkshire pudding duty, the joy of food and the happiness it brought me has always been my driving force.

But, the way we enjoy food is constantly changing and we recognise that customers want the highest quality but to enjoy it in a more informal and relaxed environment.”

Shaun opened the original restaurant in 2013 and runs it with his wife Gemma.  Two years ago his application to use the terrace after 6pm was finally approved and last year introduced dining in heated igloos for the winter which will also return on 31 October.

Shaun added, “The Bistro will stay true to everything I believe; our ingredients will be of the highest quality, always fresh, and sourced from our wonderful local producers.  The Bistro menu will be all that food should be – just like the bistros of Paris and New York, it will be food to devour, food that delights, food that the whole family can enjoy. Most importantly, it will be food that is fun.”
