Missing Henley Regatta this year which would have started tomorrow?
Well you can still join and have some fun by joining together with neighbours to mark the Regatta on Saturday (4 July) for a Herald Oarsome Street Party in your front garden and decorate your house or boat for the chance to win a Henley Royal Regatta tea hamper including a bottle of Moet champagne. To register your street party and/or your competition entry email us at firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 3 July. The competition will be judged by The Creative Duck and the prize will be delivered to the winner on Sunday.
Big Duck (Lily) will be joining in the fun too on the river. She has been a highlight for many at the last 3 Regattas and her owner Tim will be collecting for Macmillan Cancer Support this year. The Herald has arranged for her to come down to Riverside at 2pm on Saturday and DJ OneDeck aka Gary Boys will be providing some Regatta themed music until 3pm. You can login and listening remotely to Gary via https://www.facebook.com/DJOneDeck
Want to order a special Regatta afternoon tea? Chef Simon McKenzie is offering a Wind in Willows inspired one with sandwiches, quiche, scones and cakes plus a bottle of Ginger Beer or Curiocity Cola to wash it all down for £40.00 for 2 and Time for Tea Vintage is offering tea for two for £28.00 with a boating theme which includes sandwiches, lavender scones, brownies, meringues and mini boat cup cakes. Order for both by Thursday (2 July) for Saturday.
Looking for something to wear? Liz Felix Millinery has a great sale on hats (men and women) in her shop which is sadly closing at the end of August and Laurence Menswear has some great Regatta wear too #shophenley.
