Fancy a Stroll Whilst Enjoying a Glass of Fizz & Beautiful Views?

Looking for somewhere to enjoy a stroll this weekend with beautiful views of the countryside plus the opportunity to enjoy a glass or two of locally produced sparkling wine produced on our doorstep?

Henley’s very own vineyard, The Fairmile Vineyard are delighted to be opening their gates for their second of their summer public open days on Saturday and Sunday (25 & 26 July) after being closed.  Missing your trip to France this year? Once inside the vineyard, it has the feel of being transported to France’s own champagne region with the vines stretching out over the slopes.

Owners, Jan and Anthea Mirkowski will give you a warm welcome and give you an introduction to the vineyard. You’ll then be able to take your time to take in the vineyard which not only has stunning views from the top of the slopes but you’ll see a wonderful array of wildlife too.

Jan said, “Oblivious to the lockdown, our vines continued to flourish and enjoy the warm weather.  We couldn’t wait to re-open and welcome back visitors to enjoy our award-winning fizz and admire the stunning views of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  All this within walking distance of Henley’s town centre!”

Leading, wine magazine Decanter’s tasting panel awarded Henley’s Fairmile Vineyard’s Classic Cuvée the highest score Outstanding (95 points/100) in their English sparkling white wine blind tastings, announced in their January 2020 edition.

There are two further open weekends on 8/9 August and 22/23 August between 10.00-5.00pm.

No fees or bookings required, though they will ask your social bubble leader for a contact detail on entry in case they need to trace you later. Since they are also selling their wines by the glass and by the bottle, please feel free to bring a chair or rug as we have withdrawn our external furniture to reduce the number of touch points.
