Award Winning Marketing at The Henley College

The Henley College’s Marketing Department has won two National FE First Awards 2020.

Alongside winning ‘Highly commended’ for the Prospectus category, the team also won a ‘Silver’ Award in the Communications campaign category during the virtual event hosted by the College Marketing Network on Monday 30 November.

The FE First Awards celebrate the work of College Marketing throughout the country who enter the awards, which are then assessed by an expert panel of judges from the sector. The awards panel said for the Silver Award in the  Communications campaign category, “A detailed entry in which SMART objectives were fashioned by meaningful research. A very detailed submission explained why different choices were made, particularly around adapting the message in the context of changing circumstances.”  In the ‘Highly-Commended’ – Prospectus category they said, “A clean, smart and modern prospectus, with a design based on research and concern for the target market. Good reflections on lessons learnt for future developments. A great result.”

The Marketing Department at The Henley College is led by Joint Heads of Marketing and Business Development Rhian Mason and Robyn Vitty, supported by Sara Lovejoy Marketing & Digital Engagement Officer, who were nominated for the awards following a successful year for the College.

Rhian Mason, Head of Marketing & Business Development commented on the team’s achievement said, “This is our first year entering these awards and we are really pleased that our hard work and effort has been recognised nationally at the FE First Awards, particularly amongst such stiff competition. My colleagues and I have worked extremely hard in an unprecedented year to deliver our marketing strategy, including a communications campaign and new look prospectus that has succeeded in year on year enrolment of over 12%. We are immensely proud to work at The Henley College, with amazing colleagues and students. We witness inspirational achievements across the college every day and are honoured to play a part in promoting the talent and abilities of our young people.”

Principal and Chief Executive Satwant Deol said, “I am absolutely delighted and thrilled with our Marketing team in receiving these prestigious awards. They are a progressive, innovative and committed team who are always looking at new and creative ways of communicating with students and staff. The whole digital first marketing strategy has really transformed the way we recruit and keep applicants warm, which has helped with our reputation and growth in student numbers.
