A Ford Ranger pick-up crashed through the bollards on Thameside this morning (Thursday) at around 10.30am.
The driver drove off the road, breaking two of the newly fitted bollards, into the river. Luckily the driver escaped unhurt and was helped from the river by a member of the public who was passing by.
Ambulance, police and fire service were at the scene shortly afterwards with the fire service from Oxford cordoning off the area to make it safe whilst debris was removed from the road.
Kim Clifford from Hobbs of Henley helped the driver with a change of clothes and a hot drink in their nearby office.
The vehicle was removed by a crane lorry a few hours later.
