Henley-on-Thames Town Council recognises the hard work of the many organisations that help improve and enrich the Henley community. The Town Council is committed to supporting this and allocates sums each year to provide assistance in the form of grants and in-kind support through free use of Council facilities.
Henley Town Council’s Finance Strategy & Management Committee will be considering applications for funds or free use of the Town Hall and King’s Arms Barn meeting rooms (up to a value of £2,500) from its Community Grants Scheme on 9 March 2021. The following criteria should be met:
(a) They are a local charitable or non-profit-making organisation, providing services or carrying out activities or projects that directly benefit the Henley community;
(b) In the case of a regional or national organisation, where they can demonstrate that the funding will ringfenced for use specifically to benefit the Henley community;
(c) The amount of funding or free use is commensurate with the benefit provided to the Henley community;
(d) For grant funding, the amount requested should not exceed 50% of the total cost of the service or activity; and
(e) The work of the organisation and the funded activities or services complement the values and aims of the Town Council.
Full details about the Council’s grants policy and an application form can be downloaded from the website at https://www.henleytowncouncil.gov.uk/Grants.aspx
The form should be submitted to email@example.com by 15th February 2021.
Sheridan Jacklin-Edward, Town Clerk said, “We understand that COVID has had a huge impact on the balance sheets of charities and not-for-profit organisations. We would encourage you to make full use of this scheme, which has supported numerous good causes in Henley over the years.”
All applicants are advised to contact the Council to discuss their proposals prior to submitting an application. For larger grants, a meeting may be arranged between the Council and the applicant before the grant is determined by the Committee, to address any questions members may have.
Larger grants of £2,501 to £20,000 are considered by the Council’s Finance Strategy & Management Committee in December and paid the following April. The closing date for larger grant applications is 1st November 2021
