Tennis Unlocked Calls on Children to do the Red Nose Tennis Challenge
Head Coach, Tom Scott at Henley Tennis Club is calling on children to take part in a fun Red Nose Tennis Challenge from Saturday.
Children are invited to take up the challenge, wearing something red and complete 5 tennis activities which includes footwork, bouncing and hitting skills. Parents , friends and family are then invited to sponsor their child via the JustGiving page, https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/tennisu-rednoseday21
Tom is a member of the Tennis Unlocked team who have recorded a special Red Nose Tennis Challenge video which is available to view online via www.facebook.com/TennisUnlocked.
The challenge can be done as a class at school or at home during the week of Saturday 13 to Friday 19 March and no special tennis equipment is needed.
Tom said, “Off the back of running the live sessions at home initially for members of Henley Tennis Club, I teamed up with several coaches from around the country to work together to deliver content to schools through our School Sports Partnership Managers. Our content has now surpassed 1500 schools which is just incredible. Off the back of this I was invited by Tennis Unlocked along with 4 other coaches to lead an activity for ‘The Red Nose Tennis Challenge’ which raises money for Comic Relief (Red Nose Day).
Children have missed out on their sports clubs during lockdown, which they would have had during breaks and lunch times as well as after school activity. So this is a great way to get active whilst having much needed fun and raise money for a fantastic charity, which supports all the families that have suffered so much, especially in these tough times! For me, this isn’t just about tennis but bringing a community together through Sport.
