Oxford Accountancy Acquires Long Established Kench & Co

Henley’s long established Chartered Accountancy firm, Kench & Co has been acquired by Ridgefield Consulting from Oxford.

This is Ridgefield Consulting’s fourth acquisition since they founded in 2010.  Kench & Co was founded in 1982 by Eric Kench.

Simon Thomas, Managing Director of Ridgefield Consulting said, “We have seen exceptional double digit organic growth year on year since our last acquisition in 2015. We always keep an eye out for firms which share our values and the strong reputation that Eric Kench built in Henley made his business an obvious fit for us. It’s even better that we can expand the area we cover, so that we can serve more clients with our unique brand of partnership and expertise.”

Eric Kench added, “I see this development as an exciting opportunity for the future of the firm and, under Simon’s leadership, I am confident that it will continue to prosper and grow. I will not be disappearing overnight… I shall continue as a consultant to assist Simon and the rest of the team.”

At a time when business requires support more than ever, Ridgefield Consulting is confident that their services will continue to be of value and integral to helping local businesses thrive. The combined firm has provided a pillar of support to clients last year, helping over 70 limited companies access the furlough scheme for more than 250 employees. They look to assist more entrepreneurs in starting their business ventures, by ensuring they have the best tax and accounting solutions in place. They also want to increase awareness and the number of claims for R&D tax credits around the county.

The new combined team of 21 will serve a portfolio of 450 limited companies and 900 private clients. Simon is looking forward to integrating both teams, as well as adding further staff as the combined business grows.
