Linford Dials Into Gym Party as He Has to Isolate
Despite special guest and Olympic gold medallist, Linford Christie not being able to make Fitness Space Gym’s End of Summer party in person at the last minute due to having to isolate on Saturday, members of the gym and their families still enjoyed the event.
Children got to have go on the gym equipment, try their hand at archery, jump up and down on the bouncy castle and have a go at shooting tins with a nerf gun. Adults enjoyed wellness masterclasses and gym challenges. The gym also organised a raffle in aid of Sue Ryder and offered free refreshments for everyone.
Linford, who is a friend of the gym, did however dial in via Zoom to chat to people that had attended.
Joanne John, Gym Owner said, “The event was a great success, and it was brilliant to end what was a unique and challenging summer for so many with an outdoor fun event. It was great to have so many of our current members join us and to meet their families. We enjoyed meeting new people and welcoming them to our FS Fitness community. Unfortunately, Covid got the better of Linford and he had to follow guidelines and isolate nerveless we all enjoyed our informal chat with the great men and took some wonderful selfies. The Fitness Space Henley Team look forward to making the event bigger and better next year with more people and raising more money for Sue Ryder.”
Licia Jones who had only joined the gym that week said, “I do exercise at home. I have a Peloton but I just thought it would be nice to get out and meet people now we can. What I found is that it feels very friendly here. A really good community. We were looking forward to meeting Linford which is a shame however my daughter, Clarissa is having fun with the activities on offer.”
