Residents to Receive Extension of Subscription for Garden Waste

Residents who subscribe to South Oxfordshire District Council’s garden waste service will get an extension to their subscription this year for 3 months to make up for the collections that have been missed while the service has been suspended due to the shortage of HGV drivers by Biffa.

The garden waste collection service is due to restart for most of Henley on Wednesday 20 October and will take place every four weeks thereafter instead of every two weeks.  You will however be able to leave twice as much garden waste out as normal in bin or compost bags or cardboard boxes.

Customers will have a delay of three months in their Direct Debit payment for the service.  If customers have recently been informed that their payment is due imminently and has not been taken from their account, the payment will be cancelled and a notification of the revised payment date will be sent in due course.  If you choose not to continue with the service, when your subscription expires, collections will continue for next three months.

Mark Stone, Chief Executive of SODC said, “While we will be reviewing hte situation closely on an ongoing basis, we have set an agreed review date with Biffa at the end of October to see if the normal service can resume and we will let you know the outcome of that review.”
