Sponsored Walk in aid of Children in Need

Henley Walkers Are Welcome are organising a sponsored walk in conjunction with BBC Country File in aid of Children in Need to help disadvantaged children and young people throughout the UK on Saturday 9 October.

It is a circular walk starting from Idlecombe Farm, Turville near Henley-on-Thames (RG9 6QU) at any time between 11.00-2.00pm.  Adequate car parking is available and the walk is 3.6 miles (5.8km).

The walk is in the countryside and includes rough uneven paths, several stiles and some hills; it may well be wet and muddy in parts – good walking boots / shoes are essential. A rainproof jacket is advised in case of bad weather. There is also one road section where extra care needs to be taken. You may encounter livestock in some of the fields; please ensure you close gates after you.

Refreshments will available to buy at The Barn, Turville Heath (after approx. 2.1 miles into the walk)

You will be provided with a map to guide you round; there will also be marshalls along the route at intervals of about 400 yards or less.

If you encounter any problems, have to leave the walk for any reason or have any questions please contact the nearest marshall. At the end of the walk you must check in at the desk before going home.

Toilets are available at the start/end of the walk and at The Barn.

All proceeds will be donated to Children in Need

Please note children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult

Dogs are allowed on the walk but must be kept on short (non expanding) leads at all times
