Celebrating Nomad’s 25 Years With Fundraising Dinner at The Relais

Nomad completed their year long initiative to celebrate 25 years of supporting young people and families in the community by hosting a fundraising dinner at The Relais, Henley last Thursday.

Owner of The Relais, Grace Leo and her team provided a superb three course meal to over fifty guests and provided an excellent raffle prize of a night with dinner and breakfast at The Relais. The charity were also very grateful to Lord and Lady Hall who spoke at the event and shared some of their experiences of working with young people and commended the work of Nomad.

Local businessman Chris Ward who has helped Nomad for some years with its fundraising initiatives was instrumental in organising the evening and alongside Microsoft employee Claire Smyth helped organise the quiz, raffle, and auction. Chris said, “I first had the idea of the dinner around 5 years ago and its so good to see it come to fruition. I would like to thank everybody who came along and supported the evening and gave generously to this very important local charity.”

“There was a fantastic atmosphere on the night and although the total raised is not yet finalised, we anticipate it being in the region of £10,000 which will take us more than our £25,000 target for the year. This money has made a significant contribution towards a new vehicle, a refurbished kitchen which will be used for cooking sessions and staff salaries.”
