Shining a Light on This Year’s Schools’ Nativities

Nativity plays were back live at some schools in Henley to the delight of both the children and parents.  Faces were lit up for this magical festive experience that was sorely missed last year.

Badgemore Primary

It’s a Baby! Performed by Reception Class.  The nativity is a children’ s Christmas musical told from the perspective of a weary innkeeper, who finds he’s in for a sleepless night!

Rupert House School

We’re Going on a Baby Hunt performed by Reception and Nursery Children based on the classic children’s story by Michael Rosen.

St Mary’s School

Performed The Inn-Spectors’!

It is census time in Bethlehem and the inn-spectors (played by our Year 4 pupils) have been sent in to check that all the accommodation is up to scratch. They are horrified to discover that at one of the inns some visitors have been put in the stable and a baby has been born amongst the animals!

However, as Mary (played by Sophia Smyth Y2), Joseph (played by Jad Shehab Y2) and the donkey (played by Jarvis Hogan Y2) tell their story and all the special visitors (played by children in Year 1 and 2), along with our narrators (played by our year 3 pupils), explain the good news, the inn-spectors realise that this is no ordinary baby and they declare that the stable is fit for a King!

With eight fabulous, toe-tapping songs and a really fun script written by Nikki Lewis for the lower primary age, this nativity musical was perfect for the children’s Christmas Show. We love to have fun here at St Mary’s and we’ve certainly had that putting this together!
