Installation of Bridge and Fences to Ensure Marsh Lock Diversion is Safe

The Culden Faw estate owned by the Schwarzenbach family have completed works to ensure the Marsh Lock Thames path diversion is now safe for both walkers and their horses.

They have installed new fencing and a bridge and Oxfordshire County Council have supplied signage to make the new diversion route clear.  The entrance from the Henley side is opposite the Mill Lane car park (see map below – click to enlarge).

Marsh Lock footbridge was closed two weeks ago by the Environment Agency on safety grounds and are undertaking detailed investigations.  There have been no updates on how long this work will take.

Hannah Gutteridge,  Thames Path Manager at OCC replied to Culden Faw, saying “That is an incredibly quick turn around to install a bridge, fence and a gate which now makes a really convenient route for users.  Thank you again for your assistance and cooperation.”
