AFC Henley, Oxfordshire FA’s Grassroots Club of the Year 2021, is pleased to announce that its Saturday Mini-Soccer Centre for boys and girls from Reception to Y3 (U5-U8) starts again on Saturday 10 September, continuing until 17 December, including half-term weekends, and thereafter through the spring and summer school terms in 2023. The MSC has been running successfully for over 20 years as a fun introduction to football for young children.
Costs start at £7 per session for those who don’t wish to commit for a whole term, while discounted rates apply for upfront termly payments and siblings. U5s are free until October half term and the first session is free for all newcomers. Sessions are 9.15 -10.15 for Reception/Y1 and 10.30 – 12.00 for Y2/Y3. See full details on www.afchenley.com.
The club’s policy is to delay competitive football until Y4 (U9). This allows those starting out on their football journey to learn the game in a non-threatening, pressure-free environment. Head coach Jack Woodley (UEFA B Licence) ensures that all boys and girls, regardless of ability and experience, enjoy well-structured skills training and mini-games under the watchful eye of FA-qualified coaches.
There is no need to book, and no commitment is required – interested parents and their children can just turn up on any Saturday morning at Jubilee Park, Reading Road, Henley, opposite Tesco, and register on the gate.
