Two Road Closures Cause Bedlam Today

Two road closures are causing bedlam in the town today.

Deanfield Avenue has been closed by Thames Water to fix a leak and SGN are in Duke Street for an emergency gas repair and maintenance work.  Diversions are in place with traffic being diverted up Greys Road and down Valley Road via Elizabeth Road.

Oxfordshire County Council, the highways authority have given authorisation for both works.  Thames Water have been given 3 days authorisation to close Deanfield Avenue.  It is not clear how long SGN will close Duke Street for.

It ain’t easy…
1. I knew that Deanfield Avenue is closed outside the college. So….
2. Headed up Valley Road to the top shops roundabout. There’s 4-way traffic lights on the roundabout. Then…
3. Headed down St Andrews and Harpsden Way to find that the cut through road to Reading Road is also shut!!”

Please avoid these areas if you can at peak rush hour times.
