Line Up Announced for First Salon Events of 2023
The Salon events at The Relais Henley Hotel are returning for 2023 building on the success of last year with a great line of speakers to kick off the New Year.
The speakers for the evening soirees and breakfast networking meetings have been confirmed for January and February.
On 18 January The Salon welcomes back Simon Jones for a Salon evening. Simon was the first breakfast speaker last year. This time Simon will be joined by his co-author Alan Watkins of their recently published book Lie-ability looking at how leaders build and break trust, and they will be sharing their findings on this very topical subject (naturally over a New Year’s drink).
On 24 January the first breakfast speaker of the year is Justin Urquhart-Stewart. Justin is one of the best known and most trusted financial commentators in the UK and many of you will know him from his frequent television appearances. Justin will be updating us on the current economic climate and his predictions for the coming year.
Professor Chris Bones will be the breakfast speaker on 15 February. He is an Emeritus Professor at Henley Business School and currently Chair of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. Chris will be discussing ethics and integrity in modern society and whether we have lost our collective moral compass.
On 22 February they are delighted to welcome General Sir Gordon Messenger to the evening Salon. Sir Gordon led an impressive military career reaching a pinnacle as a 4-star General in the Royal Marines until his retirement in 2019. In 2020, he was commissioned by the Government to lead an in-depth investigation into leadership and management in the health and social care sectors; and in 2022 he was appointed Constable of the Tower of London. Sir Gordon will be reflecting on his career and why great leadership makes the difference.
