Halloween Dog Parade Unleashes Howling Fun!

Ruby the 3-year-old Welshie was the winner of this year’s Naughty Mutt Nice Halloween dog parade dressed as Sully from Monsters Inc. owned by David and Vivian Kos.
This was the eighth year that Naughty Mutt Nice had organised the event and new for this year owners and their dogs walked from the shop on Reading Road to Market Place where the judging took place with a cat walk of each dog down the orange carpet.
After winning Vivian said, “We thought the Sully costume looked cute. It’s the first time we’ve entered so delighted to have won.  Normally she’s a little monster but she’s been an angel today.  She must love her costume.”
In second place was Izzy, a Havanese dressed as a spider owned by Mia Burridge and a new public choice award was given to Olive and Pippa the twin Dachshunds in their witches costumes owned by the McConnell family.  Other costumes included a cow and cowgirls and Beauty and the Beast.  The winners and runners-up were given a large hamper of doggie treats.
Karole Roberson, Owner of Naughty Mutt Nice said “It’s a little bit of our tradition now, it started with Aspen the previous business owner and we carried it on and each year we find that more and more people come and they look forward to it.  It’s something fun and to socialise a bit outside of the every day just coming to the shop.  It’s lovely to see the dogs how they behave with their outfits on and the creativity of the owners is brilliant and it surprises us every year.  I’d like to thank Henley Town Council who gave us the green light to use Market Place for the parade for the first time this year.”
