Banking Hub opens at the library

The temporary Banking Hub in Henley opened on Monday at the library off King’s Road (Waitrose) car park.

The hub is open Monday to Friday 9.00-5.00pm.  When the library is closed after 1pm on Wednesday, there is a doorbell system operating.

Both personal and businesses banking transactions can be accessed at the counter including cash and cheque deposits, cash withdrawals, change for businesses and balance queries.

Each day there is a different bank representative available for private consultations.  No booking is required.  Monday is Barclays, Tuesday HSBC, Wednesday Lloyds/Halifax/Bank of Scotland and Thursday Nat West.

Kashif Quereshi, Banking Hub Operator said, “The installation has gone very well because it was very straightforward. Cash access and the Post Office organized the whole opening and it went very smoothly.  We offer all the services for high street banks as well as online banks.  We offer community banking services, so people who want to talk to their bank they can come here on the relevant day in a private room to have a chat and discuss their needs.”

“It’s absolutely amazing for businesses. Basically, they can do the cash takings here. Plus, they can get the business change from us. They’re often struggling with the change, and they can deposit their cash takings here too.

“The opening was great and it’s going very well. We had approximately 25 to 30 customers yesterday. Many were enquiring; they wanted to know what they could exactly and how things work. Today, we have done a couple of transactions – people have deposited cash and cheques and withdrawn money.

A permanent site for the Banking Hub is hoped to be found on the high street by July 2027 with an outside ATM.
