Yeuk is a skateboard boys/mens retail store on Friday Street in Henley On Thames. It was started by Steve Terry in November 2012 with the idea of giving Henley something different in clothing and access to skateboard hardware for the towns skateboarders of all ages.
The stores name comes from old English meaning itch with the idea of people having a itch that the shop could scratch. The store will be working closely with the Henley Skate Park Initiative on issues regarding park design and fund raising also with local students and artists to create local collaborations on t-shirt design. The store will also be offering an evening gallery night for town’s people to display works of art and photography.
So far the town's people have been very supportive and with extremely positive comments coming from valued customers.
As a skater run shop, Steve is trying to put back a positive message about skateboarding and hopes to get more young people interested by running a skate school during summer breaks teaching balance and board control and having a lot of fun at the same time.
It has been hard work to get to this point of opening a store in Henley but very worth while as it has been a long time coming and a dream to build a English brand from a great town in Oxfordshire .
Yeuk is open Tuesdays 10 – 6 and Sunday 11 – 4, Yeuk is also on Facebook and will shortly have a online presence.
