Katherine Grainger Starts off Rowing Challenge at St Mary’s School

As part of our collapsed curriculum week on the theme of water St Mary’s School were lucky enough to have Katherine Grainger, six times world champion, three times Olympic silver medalist and gold medalist at London 2012 in the Women’s Double Sculls over 2000m come in. She gave the children an inspiring talk and asked them lots of questions. She even started our rowing challenge off by rowing a leisurely 330m of the River Thames in a minute!

The whole school managed to touch all four of her medals. It really was a spectacular start to the week.
