A Touch of Madness at the Henley Festival

This morning the Henley Festival announced their line-up for the 31st annual festival which includes Madness, the Beach Boys and Paloma Faith.

Suggs from Madness is delighted to return after he made a brief appearance at last year’s festival when he came out of the audience on to the stage while Sting was performing.  After having a fantastic year last year including playing on top of Buckingham Palace at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert they are looking forward to playing at the festival on the Friday night.

The Beach Boys will open the festival on the Wednesday. The seven-man band still includes Mike Love, who was in the original line-up from 1961.

The festival will also pay homage to James Bond creator Ian Fleming, who lived in Nettlebed, on the Saturday night with a variety show called Shaken and Stirred featuring the Royal Philharmonic performing classic Bond soundtracks from Diamonds Are Forever to Skyfall.  The show will also feature West End singers, Bond-style stunts, comedians and surprise guests.

Paloma Faith who was nominated for best female and best British album for Fall To Grace at this year’s Brit awards, will close the festival on Sunday.

The festival will take place between Wednesday 10th to Sunday 14th July.

There is still one act to announce…the Thursday headline star will be announced next Monday 25th.
