Andrew from Down-To-Earth Completes First Marathon

Andrew Elias who owns ‘Down-to-Earth’ shop on Bell Street ran the London marathon on Sunday.

This was his first full marathon – he ran the Blenheim half marathon last October.  He completed the course in 4 hrs, 28 mins, 51 secs which he was really pleased with. He thought he had run at a steady pace throughout and was amazed when he looked at his section times afterwards to see that he ran his last 10k quicker than his first.

He ran for AICR – a charity for international cancer research investment. He chose AICR because he lost both his grandfathers; Leo and Glyn to cancer and his wife Emily lost her grandfather Roy to cancer too.
