Waitrose Community Fund Gives Brownies 100th Birthday Present

brownies-waitrose1st Henley Brownies were delighted to be chosen as one of the local charities to receive a part of the monthly Waitrose Community Matters fund (£1,000 shared between 3 charities) in April.

They have just received their cheque of £410 from Waitrose which will be put towards doing something very special to mark the 100th Birthday of Brownies in 2014.

Brownie Leader, Michaela Clarke said, “The Brownies kept a watchful eye on the green tokens over the month and they were very pleased to learn that we had been awarded the most money out of the three charities chosen that month.  We would like to thank all the Waitrose customers who put their green tokens in our box.  We’re planning to use the money for an exciting new activity that the Brownies have never done before to celebrate our 100th birthday next year.”
