‘Vision for Henley’ at Henley Partnership AGM
Over 30 members of the Henley Partnership attended their AGM last night at the Henley Golf Club.
Julie Perigo, Chair of the Partnership, highlighted in her Chairman’s Report for 2012-3 that they have been building new and strengthening the Working/Affinity Groups which now include Henley Charities Together, Health and Wellbeing, The Henley Young Partnership, House and Garden, Retail, Sports Combined and Tourism. Other areas of focus over the last year have included establishing informal monthly networking lunches, quarterly members’ evenings and assisting with various town initiatives on tourism including ‘Henley as a Winter Destination’.
She welcomed and introduced two new Directors of the Partnership, Keith Douglas who will be the chairing the Henley Charities Together Working Group and Guy Outram who will be taking over the development and management of the new Henley Partnership website and communications.
The second half of the meeting after the official AGM was a brainstorming session to come up with a future ‘Vision for Henley’ which was facilitated by Peter Robinson from Executive Portfolio and Moira Loggie from Sue Ryder. Lots of ideas came out of this session including ‘a great place to live, work and play’, ‘a market square providing entertainment for all ages’, ‘accessible with alternative transport options including park and glide (boat taxis), ‘an all year round destination for tourists’ and ‘pride in its appearance’ . The ideas from this brainstorming session will be put forward to Henley Town Council and SODC next week.
