Jazz & Blues Festival Announces Opening Night Party Details

Henley-Jazz--Blues-PosterThe opening night of the Henley Jazz & Blues Festival will be a very special party night at the Little Angel on Friday 8 November.  It will be a tribute to J J Cale who died recently, he was Eric Clapton and Chris Rea’s inspiration alongside many others. Peter McConnell, one of the organisers said, “We have secured Papa George and Mick Moody (ex Whitesnake) to play J J songs, think “Cocaine” and “After Midnight” two of the best blues guitarists in the business. A sax player will provide background entertainment during their two set interval. Then there will be a 50’s/60’s band, Junior Gueverra, for dancing to music that inspired J J Cale himself, to round the evening off.”

The room at the Little Angel will be themed “Crazy Mama’s”, the name of J J Cale’s recording studio in Tulsa, with TV screens and lighting effects inside and out.

A great, fun, evening not to be missed! Tickets, will go on sale shortly and will include a 2 course special dinner.

The week is being headline supported by Brakspears.  A detailed line-up for the week and ticketing information will be announced shortly.
