Community Project ‘The Backhouse Club’ host Fine Wine and Jazz Evenings
Founded by a former Brixton and now Henley resident Michael Warner, whose love of jazz and fine wine seem to be a product of his relationships, the Backhouse Club’s first event was launched in December 2010, to great success. Three years on and the group is thriving, with around fifty Henley residents attending the wine and jazz evenings which are held in atmospheric venues around the town every two months. There is a definite bohemian secrecy surrounding the club, as if they don’t quite want to share their Aladdin’s cave of hedonistic pleasures, yet their mantra ‘fine wine, fine music, fine life’ is too tantalizing to not pursue.
Their next event will be on the 11 October at the 15th Century Old Barn, The Market Place Henley and with Medoc, St Emilion, Morgon for wine and music from the London Jazz scene.
