Crowds Round Up for Round Table Spectacular Fireworks
The 40th Henley Round Table Firework Spectacular took place on a very windy Saturday night at Henley Rugby Club. This didn’t deter the crowds turning up and enjoying the fun fair, great food and drink from the refreshment stalls and the fantastic firework display. The bonfire had to be lit slightly earlier than planned so that it could be controlled in the windy conditions.
Andrew Peach, the Breakfast Show Presenter on Radio Berkshire did the countdown to the start of the fireworks again this year and was delighted to be asked to support this great event which raises lots of money for local charities.
The refreshment stalls which included the Round Table Hog Roast & Bar, Henley Rotary Club hot dogs and mulled wine and Dolly Delicious who were selling hot chocolate and freshly baked churros were all doing a roaring trade.
Members of the Henley Sea Cadets helped with the marshalling and selling of glow sticks and hands. Members Robyn Sedwell and Sophia Riley are pictured above.
The Round Table thanked IBS Office Solutions for being the main sponsor, Southern Plant and the Borlase family for the use of the venue.
Their main charity this year is the Chiltern Centre but they also support many other local charities and good causes and they are running a Helping Hands Campaign which is offering local charities, voluntary groups and individuals the opportunity to apply for a donation of up to £250 to support a specific need.
