Darcy Dryden who goes to Rupert House School has won the Mayor’s Christmas card competition this year.  Darcy, aged 8, who lives in Hurst used paints and coloured pencils to create her brilliant design of Santa, a snowman, an angel and lots of families cheering from Henley bridge.  Darcy told us, “I did the picture over two days as I didn’t want to do it all at once, I wanted to take my time.”  When we asked her how did she felt about winning, she replied “I was quite proud of myself.”

The Major, Stefan Gawrysiak presented Darcy with her winning certificate and a present of a chocolate advent calendar this morning at school.  Darcy is looking forward to her main prize which is to turn on the Henley Christmas Tree lights on at the Christmas Festival on Friday 6 December in Market Square.
