Living Advent Calendar Day 3 – Winter Hum Wins Film Competition

day3-2The Regal Picture House cinema, screen 1 was completely full last night to see the winning film of the Living Advent competition.  Young film makers, under 25 for the first time this year were invited to make a film which encompassed Henley and Christmas.

The winning film was called Winter Hum and was made by Freddie Fox-Wilson, aged 12 who goes to Gillotts School.  He day3-3told us it took just over a week to put it together.  Freddie is a regular film maker and has his own You Tube channel.  He has also previously won the Henley Youth Festival film competition twice.  His film Winter Hum can be watched by clicking on the link below

Freddie’s Dad is involved in films and he is currently on location filming ‘The Secret Service’. When we asked him what he was going to spend his Amazon voucher on he said, “He hadn’t yet decided.”  He also won a year’s membership to the Regal Picturehouse.  Freddie is definitely one watch for the future.

day3-4Runners up in the competition were Rachel Cooke, Harry Cowley and 1st Henley Brownies.  The Brownie film ‘Who Is Behind the Door?’ was shown after the winning film and many of the Brownies were in the audience to watch it (Lucy and Cerys pictured left) for the first time.  Michaela Clarke, leader of 1st Henley Brownies said, “They were all delighted to be chosen and to see themselves on the big screen.”  You can watch the Brownie film at

Last night Waitrose sponsored the event and provided canapes for the audience and donated two bottles of champagne for the raffle.  The Living Advent Calendar’s main sponsor this year is Sotheby’s International Realty.
