Britain’s No. 1 Theatre Organist from the famous home of ballroom dancing the Tower Ballroom Blackpool will be in concert on Sunday afternoon on 12 January at 3.00pm at Henley Town Hall. The Tower’s resident organist, Phil Kelsall MBE will be giving a guest appearance on The State Of The Art Theatre Organ installed in the Town Hall. An afternoon of foot tapping music coupled with mirth and wit. He was included in the Honours list in 2010.
One of the best known names in the theatre organ world Phil Kelsall, the legendary organist at Blackpool Tower’s Ballroom- home to the most famous and most played Wurlitzer in the world has been lined up by overwhelming demand for January. Phil having just returned from another successful 32nd season in the Christmas Show at Thursford where he is affectionately known as the king of the keyboards.
The uncanny thing about Phil’s music is that it is just when one listens to it, it is hard to realise Phil is still only in his late 40’s and has truly mastered this instrument of his choice. A lively welcome will be extended from Henley Town Hall, where so many of his numerous fans from the south will be transported to the world of Phil Kelsall. Concluding with favourites and rounded off with a traditional Blackpool Medley.
