Henley Town FC Need Volunteers – Treasurer & Match Reporter
Henley Town Football Club urgently needs more local volunteers to come forward to help. The club was formed in 1871 and is the oldest Football club in Oxfordshire but it must attract new blood because most of the current committee are long standing members and three of them have each put in over 30 years voluntary service to the club.
The Club are now looking for new committee members and it would be helpful if a person with a financial background would come forward as Treasurer. The Red Kites are also looking for match day reporter which may suit a young person who has aspirations to become a sports journalist.
You may be retired and are looking for something to keep you active or maybe you have just hung up your boots and would like to help in some way. If you are interested please contact Kim Chapman at 210 Reading Road, Henley-on-Thames or phone 07515 892909.
The club have plenty of jobs for volunteers such as helping on match days, serving at the Bar, help preparing the pitch, cutting the grass and many other jobs. If you are interested we can find you a something to do.
Thousands of volunteers came forward to help at the Olympics and we are looking for that kind of spirit in the Henley area to keep a club going that has been in existence for 143 years alive.
