South Oxon DC New Bank Account for Council Tax and Business Rates

southoxondc-logoPeople responsible for paying council tax bills or business rates in South Oxfordshire are being reminded that they need to make sure they change  bank account payment details before the end of the month.

On Tuesday 1 April South Oxfordshire District Council is switching bank accounts.  As a result anyone who makes payments to the council using their own bank’s telephone or internet banking system will need to ensure that they are directed to the new bank account.

Those paying council tax bills need to quote their council tax account number (beginning with a 4) and use the following details:

South Oxfordshire District Council – Council Tax Account

Account number – 43945340

Sort code – 20-01-09

Those paying business rates need to quote their business rates account number (beginning with a 5) and use the following details:

South Oxfordshire District Council – Business Rates Account

Account number – 83891941

Sort code – 20-01-09

Please note – if you pay bills by direct debit then there’s no need to do anything as your payments will be transferred automatically to the new account.

Details of this bank account change have also been included in 2014/15 council tax and business rate bills.

Cllr David Dodds, Cabinet Member for Finance at South Oxfordshire District Council, said: “If you are responsible for paying council tax or business rates in South Oxfordshire please make sure that start using the new bank account details by 1 April.”
