BAFTA Gaming Awards

Bafta-Gaming-2In March, actor and television presenter Trey Farley spent a day at Shiplake College filming for the BAFTA Video Games Awards. Trey is married to former Blue Peter presenter and Henley resident Katy Hill.

Having been impressed with Shiplake pupils in the past, Trey asked the College if they could nominate a boy from Lower School to test and review one of the nominated games. As a keen gamer and owner of a PlayStation Vita, Josh Lewis was selected to take part. Josh spent a week playing Best Mobile and Handheld Game category nomination Tearaway. The game, developed by huge hit LittleBigPlanet creators Media Molecule, has recieved plaudits for its visual design.

The nomination clip was shown during the awards ceremony screened online and on BBC Three. Tearaway enjoyed great success at the awards ceremony, picking up a total of three BAFTAs; Best Mobile and Handheld Game, Artistic Achievement and Best Family Game.
