The annual Wing Activity Day at the Thames Valley Wing Headquarters is a chance for cadets from all 26 squadrons throughout Thames Valley Wing to pit their wits and skills against each other in a variety of tasks and disciplines, some fun, some serious.

With activities ranging from Aviation Art to Water Rockets and Banner Drill to BMA Darts, the competition for points was friendly but determined. Henley Air Cadets had a First and Second Place in Aviation Art, a First in the Open Aviation Model Class and a Second in Aviation Photography.

Henley also did well in First Aid, BMA Dart flying, Water Rocket and Squad Drill. Not bad for a Squadron who had one of the smallest contingents of cadets.

The Squadron Commander, Flying Officer Tim Keating said “It was a very long but extremely enjoyable day! The cadets that took part gave it their all and had an immense amount of fun.”

Joining the Air Training Corps is easy. If you are age 12 to 17 years just call in at the Drill Hall, Friday Street, Henley RG9 1AH on a Monday or Thursday 7.15 to 9.30 p.m. or call 01491 572335 on a parade evening or anytime on 07967 821220.
