The Henley Round Table has donated £2,800 to Valley Road School to help pay for a new Music classroom.

Valley Road School want to build a facility where pupils and members of the local community can practise their instruments or learn to play.

They aim to raise £50,000 for the project and hope to start construction of the new building in 2015.

The money donated by the Henley Round Table was raised at the charity’s firework display on Saturday 1st November.

Round Table Chairman Nick Woodthorpe said: “We are delighted to support an initiative such as this.”

“Young people in Henley deserve to have outstanding facilities which will enable them to develop their talents and to become our next generation of musicians”.

Wendy Schrier, of the Valley Road School PTA, added: “We thank the Round Table for their generosity”.

“This donation will go a long way in helping to secure the amount that we need. The new classroom will become a vital community asset”.
